MUNSCH Pumps for AEL and PEM Electrolysis

For centrifugal pumps the selection of material is crucial. Not only when dealing with corrosive chemicals but also
when liquids need to stay clean. Plastics are a great choice in this regard and

MUNSCH knows how to build reliable pumps from it:

Why would you consider a non-metallic pump for electrolyte circulation?

In chlor alkali electrolysis pumps from specialized alloys were the only thing accepted for more than 100 years until industrial pumps from plastics proved they can provide the same level of safety and durability while being more flexible and better available.

Read on and explore why it is important to consider non-metallic pumps and what a difference MUNSCH can make ...

fact #1: "All wetted parts are non-metall"

The electrolyte, be it KOH or ultra-pure water, won't get in touch with any material other than plastics and ceramics.

The electrolyte is being kept free of ions.

MUNSCH knows which materials have proven under what circumstances and - most important - how to build pumps from them.

fact #2: "MUNSCH pumps are industrial grade"

MUNSCH pumps are following international standards such as ISO2858 and can be considered equal to any other industrial process pump.

Each pump is made from solid virgin plastic, parts that Munsch designs and manufactures all in house to reach wall thicknesses that even hydrogen would consider hard to penetrate.

Other than metal alloys the thickwalled plastic parts do not emit ions and are absolutely corrosion resistant.

To cope with loads from piping and to protect the plastic parts from UV radiation MUNSCH pumps are completely covered by a sturdy cast iron armor - this also helps supporting design pressures up to 16 bar... with potential for even more.*

"We believe a good pump solution is the work of people and communication."
